At The Shepherd’s House, our beliefs are rooted in Scripture, shaped by historic Christian faith, and lived out through discipleship, worship, and service. We hold to a Trinitarian understanding of God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — united in love and working together in perfect harmony. This relational unity (often called perichoresis) shapes how we see God and how we live as His people: connected, unified, and participating in His life and mission.

Below is a simple overview of our core beliefs, followed by the 12 values that guide our ministry.

Our Core Beliefs

We believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, perfectly united in love and purpose. God created the world, redeems humanity through Jesus Christ, and empowers believers through the Holy Spirit.

What this means: God is relational, loving, and actively involved in our lives. We are invited into His family and His mission.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority for faith, life, and practice.

What this means: Scripture guides how we live, how we love, and how we follow Jesus.

We believe salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone — through His life, death, and resurrection. We receive this gift by grace through faith.

What this means: Anyone can experience forgiveness, new life, and a restored relationship with God.

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ — diverse, global, Spirit empowered, and called to make disciples of all nations.

What this means: We gather to worship, grow, serve, and bring God’s love to our community and the world.

We believe we are called to live out the Gospel locally and globally — forming disciples, serving our neighbors, and advancing God’s Kingdom.

What this means: Faith is active. We serve Woburn through community partnerships and support global missions, including church planting and clean water initiatives in India.

Our 12 Core Values

These values shape our culture, our ministry, and our daily walk with Jesus.

  1. God’s Word as Authority: The Bible is our final authority, guiding us toward a faith filled, obedient, godly life.

  2. Worship as Priority: Worship is our first ministry — offered with reverence, humility, joy, and biblical passion.

  3. God’s Love Bringing Wholeness: A Spirit filled atmosphere of God’s love brings healing, hope, and holiness as we follow Jesus.

  4. Ministry to the Family: We honor and strengthen the biblical family, upholding marriage, sexuality, and the sanctity of life.

  5. Racial Harmony in God’s Kingdom: We celebrate ethnic diversity and pursue unity as one redeemed family under Christ.

  6. Unity of Christ’s Body: We seek and serve the unity of the global Church, honoring the prayer of Jesus in John 17.

  7. Constant Prayer unto Fruitfulness: Prayer and intercession are essential for spiritual growth, ministry effectiveness, and partnership with God.

  8. Spirit Filled Witness and Service: We equip believers of all ages to serve with the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s Word.

  9. Vitality of Spiritual Language: We value Spirit enabled prayer and praise as a gift for edification, intercession, and worship.

  10. Commitment to Spiritual Warfare: We recognize spiritual conflict and engage it biblically through prayer, discernment, and Christ’s victory.

  11. A Spirit of Giving and Stewardship: We steward our time, gifts, and resources generously, recognizing everything we have comes from God.

  12. Commitment to Sound Doctrine: As part of the Foursquare family, we uphold the Declaration of Faith with unity in essentials, liberty in non essentials, and love in all things.
